This is the actual bed that Gen. Stonewall Jackson was in. The blanket lying at the foot of the bed was used to cover the fallen hero.
He developed pneumonia. With his wife at his side he passed away on Sunday May 10, 1863.
His last words were " Let us pass over the river and rest under the shade of the trees."
